Therapy Session Fees
Each therapy session lasts for 60 minutes. The fee for individual and couples therapy is set at $200 per session. This rate reflects my commitment to providing personalized and effective mental health care tailored to each client's unique needs. If you have any questions regarding the fees or would like to discuss scheduling a session, please feel free to reach out.
Tax Exemption for Counseling and Psychotherapy Services
Under current regulations in Canada, including British Columbia and Ontario, counseling and psychotherapy services focused on preventing or treating mental health disorders, as well as supporting individuals affected by these conditions or their caregivers, are exempt from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). This exemption applies specifically to regulated professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers, and psychologists.
It is important to note that while these therapy services are exempt, educational services—such as workshops—and consultations provided to organizations or other professionals remain subject to GST/HST across all provinces.
Insurance Information for Psychotherapy Sessions
Currently, I do not accept direct insurance payments for psychotherapy services. However, a receipt will be provided after each session, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. It is essential for clients to verify with their insurance company to determine if these services are covered under their plan and to understand the potential reimbursement amounts.
Coverage for mental health services can vary significantly based on the insurance provider and policy. In British Columbia, for instance, while services through the government-funded Medical Services Plan (MSP) cover many mental health services, private practice psychotherapy typically requires clients to pay out of pocket unless covered by extended health benefits. Similarly, in Ontario, clients often utilize private insurance or employee assistance programs to help offset the costs of psychotherapy. Please reach out to your insurance provider for specific details related to your plan.
Payment Policy
Payment for each session must be completed at least 12 hours prior to the scheduled appointment unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance. This policy ensures that scheduling remains efficient and accommodating for all clients.
Payments can be conveniently processed via electronic transfer or PayPal, allowing for secure and timely transactions. For any inquiries regarding payment methods or arrangements, please feel free to reach out.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel or reschedule an appointment, we kindly request a minimum of **24 hours' notice**. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make any changes. Appointments can be canceled or rescheduled by calling or texting 604-830-2086 or by emailing info@farshidrashidifar.com.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a late cancellation fee equal to 50% of the session cost. Clients who do not attend their scheduled appointment without prior notification will be charged the full session fee.
We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances may arise. Therefore, exceptions to this policy may be made at our discretion in cases of illness, family emergencies, or other significant situations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
